Take Action to End the Federal Death Penalty

With new leadership in the U.S. Senate and a new president soon to be inaugurated, there's no time to lose to make sure abolition of the federal death penalty is on the agenda for the first 100 days of the new administration. Please take each of the following actions:

#1 - Visit our main page on actions to end the federal death penalty

#2 - Send your personal electronic message to your Representative and Senator

#3 - Sign and share the petition to Congress

#4 - Ask leadership of your faith community, civic group, club, team, business, school, etc. to join the growing coalition calling for an end to the federal death penalty

#5 - Donate to support ending the federal death penalty

And one more thing...

Send a note in the postal mail to your congressional representatives. In this day of clicktivism,an actual letter in the mail carries a lot more weight. Your message need not be long. Please write a hand-written note that says something like this:

"I am your constituent, and I oppose the death penalty. I am asking you to support any legislation that will abolish the federal and military death penalty in the United States."

Feel free to add any personal reasons if you wish, but as long as you include your name and address so they know that you live in their district, the above is all you need.
