Direct Action at the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, DC

January 17 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

The Abolitionist Action Committee (AAC) and affiliated partners will participate in a direct action at the U.S. Supreme Court, which will mark the 45th anniversary of Gary Gilmore, who was the first U.S. prisoner executed in modern history (on Jan. 17, 1977).  This action takes place every 5 years, and has historically resulted in the peaceful arrest of dedicated abolitionists. This year, it is also Martin Luther King Day.

There will be visible actions at the US Supreme Court followed by a petition delivery to the United States Capitol.

People who are not interested in risking arrest are also invited to witness and support the action at a safe distance.  Please let AAC know if you are interested in any role in the action by signing up here: http://www.abolition.org/jan17/index.html
